Echoes of the pastbeneath the trees
The garden was established in 1830. To landscape and develop the area, plants and fertile soil were brought from different parts of the world, gradually creating a rich collection of trees and ornamental plants. Today, oak, cedar, ash, plane and magnolia trees grow here, while flowering plants give the garden a changing appearance throughout the seasons.
Take a stroll along the shaded pathways and stop by the fountain at the heart of the garden. It is a pleasant place to relax after exploring Icherisheher, take a few photos or simply enjoy the surroundings. Baku Boulevard and other attractions in the historic city centre are also nearby.
The garden's name is no coincidence: it is home to the Muslim Magomayev Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic Hall. Music has long been part of the character of this place, which has hosted concerts and theatrical performances and once served as one of the centres of Baku's cultural life. Even today, the garden offers a chance to experience the city's enduring connection with its musical heritage.
