First published in 1929, the story quickly won the hearts of millions of children thanks to the kind doctor who helps animals. Over the years, the poem has inspired numerous plays, theatre productions, and musical adaptations. The character of Aibolit is frequently used in children’s theatres, as well as in puppet and musical performances. Due to the work’s enduring popularity, various theatrical versions, films, and animated adaptations have also been created. In this sense, the theatre’s current repertoire presents the story in a way that aligns with the worldview and perception of today’s young audience. In this one-act puppet show, children will meet various animal characters, learn more about the world around them, and deepen their understanding of friendship, unity, and kindness.
