traces ofa great victory
The Military Trophies Park stretches over a 5-hectare area in an open-air setting to commemorate and immortalise the victory of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces during the Patriotic War. Here, you can see a portion of the military trophies left behind by enemy soldiers and captured by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, as well as an example of the defensive fortifications constructed by the Armed Forces of Armenia. As you tour the museum grounds, you can closely examine various military trophies such as T-72 tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, anti-aircraft missile systems, armoured vehicles, artillery pieces, air defence equipment, automotive machinery and ammunition. A panel that chronologically displays significant events of the 44-day Patriotic War helps to relive those days.
One of the most interesting parts of the Military Trophies Park is the pavilion that displays a reconstruction of the enemy’s defensive line, consisting of a 10-element obstacle system. In this fortified structure, which the enemy had strengthened for years and believed to be impassable, but which was ultimately breached by Azerbaijani soldiers, you can explore a bunker, soldiers’ barracks, firing points, combat post, tunnel and trenches. Another exhibit that will catch your attention is a panel made up of the license plates of military vehicles captured as trophies from Azerbaijan’s liberated lands.
You can also purchase souvenirs and clothing related to the Patriotic War at the souvenir shop located in the park. Tickets can be obtained from the iticket.az website or at the on-site ticket office.
