Where ancient legends come to lifeDede Gorgud Park
Opened in 2013, Dede Gorgud Park takes its name from one of the most significant works of Azerbaijan’s epic heritage, The Book of Dede Gorgud. At the centre of the park is a sculptural composition by Goyush Babayev, portraying the heroes of this celebrated national epic. From here, the walk continues towards the park’s lake, which spans around 3 hectares and is framed by bridges, waterfalls and landscaped walking paths.
The lakeside is one of the park’s most picturesque areas. Wander across the bridges, follow the paths along the water or enjoy a catamaran ride on the lake. With views from different angles, the surrounding landscape offers plenty to discover, while the waterfalls bring an added sense of movement to the setting.
Green spaces and open areas provide plenty of opportunities to pause and relax. As evening falls, lighting transforms the park, creating an atmospheric setting for an evening stroll.
Make Dede Gorgud Park part of your Baku itinerary when you are looking for a peaceful change of scenery, away from the city's busy streets and surrounded by greenery and water.
