experience the mountains of Sheki on horseback

Sheki has always attracted travellers with its wonderful nature, historical monuments and architectural landmarks. But another adventure you won’t forget in Sheki is riding through its magnificent mountains on horseback.

experience the mountains of Shekion horseback

Sheki is well-known for its historical monuments and stunning nature, but you can also indulge in active relaxation here. One of the most memorable and interesting adventures available is ascending the magnificent Caucasus Mountains on horseback. Starting from the Kish Adasi restaurant and recreation centre near the historic village of Kish, there are horse riding routes going in several directions which will allow you to take in the spectacular nature and history of the region.

Along with admiring all the gorgeous scenery as you crisscross the mountains, you’ll pass by local attractions such as the Gelersen-Gorersen Fortress, Sheki Khan’s Palace, Khan’s Plateau, Gaynar waterfall and Bash Kungut village. And before you set off, you’ll undergo a short training and session led by experienced instructors. Those not keen to venture far, meanwhile, can simply ride a horse in the recreation centre. For more information about tours, you can contact the Sheki Destination Management Organisation.
