take a tour ofSheki Khan's palace
Hidden beneath the shade of 500-year-old trees, the richly adorned Sheki Khan’s Palace is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Constructed at the end of the 18th century as the administrative building of the Sheki khans, it is located among the cool foothills of the Greater Caucasus Mountains.
The palace’s intricate designs are on display both inside and out, featuring elaborate frescoes and perfectly arranged tiles. The windows are among the finest examples of ‘shebeke’ - an Azerbaijani technique that creates stained glass windows without the use of glue or nails.
You can join a guided tour with an experienced local guide who will recreate the authentic atmosphere of that era and transport you back to the times of the Azerbaijani khanates.
