Gurgur Waterfall dazzlesin all four seasons
Also known as Griz Waterfall, Gurgur Waterfall is located 2.8 km from the enchanting village of Griz, known for its distinctive language and culture. The waterfall itself is situated on the Griz-Galakhudat route at an altitude of 2,190 metres above sea level and with a height of 6 metres. Gurgur Waterfall originates on Mount Gizilgaya and receives its source from Babbey Waterfall, which is located a short distance away, and River Berkdere. During winter, the waterfall cascades through rocky terrain, creating a mesmerising sight as it freezes under the influence of cold weather. The frozen waterfall transforms into a magical site, creating a fairy-tale atmosphere.
There is no direct route from the village to the waterfall. The existing road to the village is extremely challenging and hazardous, only permitting access to off-road vehicles. For safety, it is advisable to seek assistance from a professional guide or local residents. Those with hiking experience can easily reach Gurgur Waterfall by following the signs along the Griz-Galakhudat route. While visiting the waterfall, do not forget to adhere to safety rules.
