On May 7, 2024, within the framework of ATM Dubai, an internal reporting event titled "Connecting Travel" was organized by Jacobs Media.
During the presentation, it was highlighted that Azerbaijan held the leading position with 38% of the votes among the top 10 travel choices of Gulf States Council members. These figures were adjusted taking into account the average growth based on the flight capacity calculations.
Simultaneously, Julia Simpson, Chief Executive Officer of the World Travel and Tourism Organizations (WTTC), acknowledged Azerbaijan's participation in the "Hotel Sustainability Basics" during her speech, commending this initiative.
According to the statistics, Azerbaijan has emerged as a highly sought-after travel destination for GCC travellers, in part due to its convenient direct flights and visa procedures, and reputation as a dynamic cultural and business hub. From the beginning of this year, we have seen an increase of 60% in tourists (31,769) from the GCC in 2024 compared to 2023.
