Goderzi Chokheli - “A Letter to the Firs”
The play, based on the story “A Letter to the Firs” by Georgian writer Goderzi Chokheli, tells the story of Beri, who narrowly escapes death in war.
During the war, fir pollen somehow gets into Beri’s wound. After the war, although his wound heals, a fir tree begins to grow on his shoulder.
Beri, who has no children, becomes attached to the fir as if it were his own child. To protect the fir, which has become an inseparable part of him, Beri makes every sacrifice at the cost of his own health.
When all efforts prove insufficient, Beri chooses to reunite with nature itself, embracing the only way to keep his beloved fir alive.
