Chabiant is one of Azerbaijan’s foremost modern wineries, producing an excellent range of reds, whites and roses from a mixture of local and foreign grapes (though the winemaking here focuses on local varieties). The winery participates in many international wine fairs and exports its products to the CIS, Asia and Eastern Europe.
Travellers can enjoy guided tours of the winery, including its vast cellar, modern production facilities and vineyards, and perhaps even meet its Italian winemakers, who might treat you to an impromptu winemaking masterclass. If you visit in August or September, you can also take part in grape harvest activities and festivities.
The winery also has its own guest house, Chateau Monolit, as well as a restaurant serving first-class food and wine and an outdoor pool that is an ideal place to relax in the warmer months. The vineyards here are wonderfully picturesque and stretch over rolling hills with the snowy peaks of the Greater Caucasus Mountains in the background.
