Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s House Museum in Shusha
The house museum of outstanding Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli was founded in Shusha in 1959 and functioned up until the occupation of the city by Armenian forces in 1992. Along with family household items, the museum exhibits personal belongings, photographs and books belonging to Uzeyir Hajibeyli, as well as books about him presented to the museum. Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s anniversaries and jubilees were always officially commemorated at the museum. For example, in 1985, UNESCO solemnly marked the 100th anniversary of the great composer's birth with guests invited from countries around the world. Thanks to the great efforts of the museum’s management, the museum's exhibits were saved and brought to Baku where they are currently exhibited at the Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s House Museum in Baku.
