Shahdag Mountain Resort, nestled in the breath-taking Caucasus Mountains of Azerbaijan, is thrilled to announce the official opening of its winter season. Over the weekend, Azerbaijan Tourism Board together with the resort hosted a Season Opening weekend for approximately 90 international guests, comprising members of the media and travel trade from Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Tatarstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Belarus.

During their stay at Shahdag Mountain Resort, guests had an opportunity to explore the resort's world-class infrastructure. Trade representatives conducted comprehensive hotels inspections, while media representatives prepared detailed media coverages and conducted interviews. The winter kick-off event showcased the modern amenities and diverse range of activities available at the resort - from the adrenaline-pumping excitement of the only mountain coaster in the Caucasus to the thrill of ziplining and the adventurous spirit of quadracycling, guests were treated to an unforgettable winter experience. The Opening Dinner and Gala Night offered a platform for networking and the chance to experience Azerbaijani hospitality, as well as savour delicious cuisine, and wines.

Additionally, the B2B meetings scheduled for the 18th of December provides an opportunity for the international guests to engage in discussions with 80 local travel trade representatives in Baku. These meetings will foster collaboration, exchange insights, and strengthen ties within the travel and tourism industry.

Shahdag Mountain Resort continues to position itself as a premier destination for winter sports enthusiasts, adventure seekers, and those looking to escape to a picturesque mountain views. Offering an extensive array of activities for all ages, Shahdag Mountain Resort caters to both summer and winter enthusiasts, providing experiences ranging from skiing, trekking, and quad biking to horseback tours. The resort features a dedicated winter activities area for children, complete with seaways, snowmobiles, ziplines, and quads. Summer at Shahdag unfolds with a diverse selection of activities such as zip-lining, mountain biking, paragliding, and swimming. Austrian engineering and consultancy firm, carried out the planning and supported the construction of the Shahdag Tourism Complex, which was the first project of its kind in Azerbaijan. Beyond thrilling adventures, the resort features an unforgeable spa for a rejuvenating experience. With 28 slopes, over 30 kilometers in length, and accommodations like Shahdag Hotel & Spa, Zirve Hotel Shahdag, Gaya Residence, Pik Palace, and Park Chalet, Shahdag Mountain Resort is the epitome of adventure and relaxation in the heart of the Caucasus.

Azerbaijan is home to two additional mountain resorts – Tufandag and Agbulag. Tufandag Mountain Resort, located in the city of Gabala, boasts 15 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes for skiing or snowboarding. Offering a diverse range of winter activities such as sledging, snow tubing, and snowmobiling, the resort creates an enchanting atmosphere at an altitude of 1920 meters on the peak called “Sleeping Beauty”. Meanwhile, in the village of Agbulag, just an hour's drive from Nakhchivan city, visitors can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and sledding while relishing the picturesque scenery of the Lesser Caucasus Mountains.
