Museum of History and Local Lorea voyage into the history of Gazakh

Gazakh District History and Local Lore Museum stands as a monumental testament to the rich Azerbaijani history and culture. The two-story museum offers a variety of exhibits that capture the interest of visitors.

The first floor showcases a section highlighting the activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev and Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, through several photographs. Along with the general information section presented here, other fascinating sections such as Gazakh’s natural features, archaeological findings, the ancient Stone Age, the Middle Ages, and the "bey house" capture the interest of visitors.

The second floor of the History and Local Lore Museum showcases various sections titled "Gazakh Carpet School," "Ethnography and Folklore," "Gazakh in the 19th and Early 21st Centuries," "Samad Vurgun," "Prominent Figures," "1929-1990," "Modern Era," and "Azerbaijan in the 21st Century." This floor also includes a corner dedicated to honoring the cherished memory of martyrs who sacrificed their lives during both the First and Second Karabakh Wars, also known as the Patriotic War. Exhibits and information on Gazakh’s development path from ancient times to the present day, as well as its nature, culture, traditions, daily life, and notable personalities, are displayed here.

The attic of the building includes workspaces, a conference hall, a library, a kitchen, and a café for visitors' comfort. One of the most intriguing attractions is the display of the carpet-weaving process, shown on small monitors throughout the museum.

On October 19, 2016, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, attended in the opening ceremony of the Gazakh District History and Local Lore Museum. The construction of the new building of museum began in November 2015 and was completed successfully in October 2016.
