Central Botanical Gardengreen heart of Baku
Established in 1936, the Central Botanical Garden holds not only of historical significance but is also considered a symbol of pride for the capital. Following large-scale restoration and reconstruction works completed in the autumn of 2024, the garden reopened its doors to the public. President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the grand opening ceremony of newly renovated garden, emphasizing its importance for both the city and the entire country.
As a result of the restoration and reconstruction works, the garden has been revitalized: special attention is drawn to the modern greenhouse built to home rare species of plant from around the world. Pedestrian bridges and lush, tree-lined avenues have been constructed, while rest areas equipped with appropriate facilities offer shaded spots under trees and a serene environment, providing visitors with a sense of calm. Dedicated playgrounds for families with children have also been established.
Outdoor restaurants allow guests to enjoy the natural surroundings while appreciating the beauty of nature, and the renovated greenhouses and picturesque lake complex enhance the charm of the space.
The crescent-shaped ancient administrative building, equipped with modern lighting and irrigation systems, has been renovated to preserve both the historical and contemporary significance of the garden. This location not only serves as a crucial center for scientific research on Azerbaijan's diverse and abundance flora but has also become a favorite destination for city residents and visitors seeking harmony.
