Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) will resume direct flights between Baku and Karachi as of April 18th, 2024. Operating twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, this direct flight initiative aims to meet the rising demand and heightened interest from Pakistani travelers exploring Azerbaijan.
The introduction of daily flights connecting Baku and Karachi is expected to further boost an increase in arrivals from Pakistan. AZAL already operates flights to two other key cities in Pakistan – Islamabad and Lahore, highlighting the commitment to facilitating seamless travel between two destinations. With direct flights operating from three major cities in Pakistan, planning your visit to Baku is straightforward. With non-stop flights available, you can reach the largest city in the Caucasus region in approximately 3 hours.
In recent years, Azerbaijan has emerged as a highly sought-after travel destination for tourists from Pakistan, in part due to its convenient flights, easy e-VISA procedures, and reputation as a dynamic cultural and business hub. Azerbaijan, known for its UNESCO World Heritage sites, invites visitors to explore iconic landmarks such as the Old City of Baku, Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape, Sheki Historic Centre, Khinalig village, and the 'Köç Yolu' Transhumance Route. The cosmopolitan capital, Baku, boasts a diverse tapestry of city experiences, encompassing museums, galleries, chic bars featuring local wines and delicacies, an array of restaurants offering both traditional and international cuisines, and numerous business events offerings. The country stands as a premier destination for hosting events of all scales, with world-class infrastructure and resources, including the Skytrax’ 5-star rated Baku International Airport, chain hotels, iconic Flame Towers, and facilities like the Baku Congress Centre and Heydar Aliyev Centre.
To travel to Azerbaijan, citizens of Pakistan can apply for an e-VISA through evisa.gov.az at least three days before their planned arrival date or receive an urgent visa within 3 to 5 hours. The visa will be valid for 90 days, during which Pakistani travellers can visit Azerbaijan for up to 30 days.
