Craftsmen of Lahij preserved their traditions and technologies of working on non-ferrrous metals, like copper and bronze through centuries. Cobblestoned streets of this amazing city will offer you picteresque view to tinsmiths and blacksmiths, as well as its shops, which will amaze you with carpets and rug crafts. Locals of this medieval village have developed sophisticated construction techniques due to frequent earthquakes. The experts claim that its old sewage system was built about 1500 years ago. You will also have a chance to enjoy a view of the majestic natural canyon and Zernava suspension bridge. This magnificent place will be followed by a picnic party, which will cater mix of kebabs (pieces of lamb, kofte, chicken and grilled vegetables), fresh salads and local hommemade wine.

The first stop of this tour will be the city of Shamakhi, which was the capital of the Shirvanshah state that existed for almost 7 centuries. In Shamakhi, you will have the opportunity to taste the famous Shamakhi kutabs - national flat cakes filled with greens of organic origin.

Stop At: Lahij, Azerbaijan
The next point will be the village of Lahij, the way to which lies through the forests and serpentine roads of the Caucasus Mountains. You will have the opportunity to see the breathtaking natural canyon, and you will also stop at the Zernava suspension bridge.
The particular architectural style of Lahij will undoubtedly stun you with its two-storey houses and cobbled streets stretching along the banks of the Girdiman River. Lahij is a real village of craftsmen and artisans who have preserved their traditions and technologies of working on non-ferrous metals (copper, bronze). The magnificent works of Lahij masters on copper vessels were exhibited at the World Exhibition in Vienna in 1873 (Weltausstellung 1873). Here, each quarter has its own unique mosque, which reinforces the impression of guests from the village.
