Overview
Azerbaijan is the real homeland of Caucasian carpets, that is why almost every region of the country is famous for its special type of ornamentation and even the approach to weaving. You can observe the creation of these masterpieces in special workshops and private studios in all corners of the country, but our excursion will begin with a visit to one of the largest centers of carpet weaving in the capital, Azer-Ilme, where you can not only learn about the history of the Azerbaijani carpet, but also attend the master class, and take part in the manufacturing process. The carpet museum, which will complete the tour, is not only the hearth of the history of Azerbaijan on carpets, but also an architectural artwork. The museum building is made in the form of a rolled carpet. Therefore, it is worth visiting not only for its valuable content, but also for visually appreciating this architectural finding.
