Overview
Ganja is the second largest city of the country, a monument of the ancient culture and an industrial center of Western Azerbaijan.
No wonder that the city's name means Treasure. At the entrance to the city, the travelers are met by the mausoleum of the poet Nizami. Ganja is inextricably linked with the name of the poet.
One of the most beautiful lakes of Azerbaijan, which definitely deserves a visit is Goygol, located near Ganja in the West of the country. This reservoir is part of the eponymous National Park, so the richness of the surrounding flora and fauna here can only envy. In Azerbaijani language, Goygol translated as Blue Lake and this name fully justifies the appearance of the pond — the water here is amazingly beautiful color, clean, transparent, even at great depths. Goygol with a length of 2,800 m, width 800 m, depth varies from an average of 30 m to an impressive maximum of 96 m.
