65 km away from the city center on the cone-shaped mountain peak, at an altitude of 2,300 meters there is Khinalig, one of the most famous mountain villages of Guba. Khinalig residents preserved their ancient customs and traditions, and speak the original language, that forms a separate branch in the Nakh-Dagestani family of languages. In 2001, a historical and ethnographic museum was opened here.

This settlement, founded in the late 18th century, is located in the suburb of the city on the right bank of the Gudyal River on the way to Gusar region. Residents of the village are the Jewish people group, who call themselves "Djuguri." They are also called Mountain Jews. In the village there are 13 synagogues, two of which are active. The village is also known for an abundance of luxury villas and palaces.
