  • Chalkhan Gala Fortress Walls

    The fortress walls are located on a high hill, on the banks of the river and date back to the Bronze Age. The length of the walls of this cyclopean building, Chalkhan Gala Fortress, is 450 m, height is 2.5-3 m, and width – 2.7-3 m. It is assumed that the walls date back to 2nd century BC and served as defensive structures for the allied tribes.

  • Garabaghlar Mausoleum

    Located in the village of Garabaghlar, Kengerli District, this monument belongs to the 14th century. It is assumed, however, that the minaret was built at the end of the 7th or early 8th century. Inscriptions, made as ornaments on minaret walls and connecting these minarets, indicate that this mausoleum was built by the Elkhani ruler Hulagu Khan in honor of his wife Mehriban Guti. This historical monument was restored by the order of the national leader Heydar Aliyev.

  • Shahtakhti Govur Fotress

    The history of the Shahtakhti Govur Fortress refers to the late Bronze Age and early Stone Age (3,000-1,000 BC). Today, the remains of the walls are protected by the state.
