MICE acronym means four directions of business travel: Meetings – business appointments; Incentives - Incentive tours for employees, partners and clients; Conferences - the organization of conferences, participation at the art exhibitions; Events - organization of corporate events, etc.

In Azerbaijan, the business travel industry has been recently formed and now is rapidly developing. Going on a business trip, the tourists do not want merely to visit the exhibition, workshops, conferences - they travel for obtaining new opportunities for their business. And Azerbaijan is ready to provide them with these opportunities. Socio-economic changes that have occurred over the last 15 years have made Baku as a city of European standards, one of the business centres of the region. All this is reflected in the infrastructure: the capital of Azerbaijan possesses hotel fund, catering, places for conducting different types of events - negotiations, workshops, conferences, presentations, seminars, congresses, forums, festivals, concerts, exhibitions, and of course, banquets and cocktails.

Today 506 hotels are operating in Azerbaijan, and it implies a total of 33 000 places for tourists. All hotels of category 4 and 5 stars are offering services for business travelers. For business appointments in hotels of Baku and many regions of Azerbaijan it is possible to rent conference rooms, training rooms and meeting rooms. Thus large 4 - and 5-star hotels of international class, such as Hilton, Marriot, Jumeirah, Park Inn, and others have rooms for 700, 1,000 or more square meters, along with a small rooms in the 20-40 square meters intended for organization of negotiations, “round tables” and trainings.

Furthermore, the capital has a lot of business centres with all the opportunities for business appointments. Among them - Chirag Plaza, Landmark, Isr Plaza, Bridge Plaza, etc. A magnificent Heydar Aliyev Cultural Centre is a complex structure which includes a convention centre, a museum, a library and a park area of ​​9 hectares. Season of exhibitions and conferences in Azerbaijan starts in April, and it ensures the beginning for active live in the country. In addition, Azerbaijan Export And Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) annually organizes around 200 events, including business forums, exhibitions, business training workshops and business meetings, both within the country and abroad. Due to the increased activity, AZPROMO's representative offices were established in Austria, Georgia, Germany, UAE  and the United States. AZPROMO spearheaded the export promotion initiative of Azerbaijan under the slogans "Made in Azerbaijan" and "Flavors of Azerbaijan".  

AZPROMO maintains close relations with many international investment promotions agencies, chambers of commerce, governmental organizations and other business promotion institutions.
